CIPT stands for Certified Information Privacy Technologist. It is an IAPP certification for people working where privacy, technology, product development, engineering, security, and compliance meet.
The exam focuses on practical privacy concepts such as privacy by design, data protection strategies, and how to build privacy into systems and processes.
Resources I used
The CIPT Exam Guide by Joseph Byrne was my main resource. It was clear, comprehensive, and closely aligned with what I saw on the exam. If I had to choose one resource, I would start there.
An Introduction to Privacy for Technology Professionals by IAPP and Travis Breaux gave helpful background. It is more theoretical and not as exam-focused, but it helped me understand the broader privacy and technology landscape.
The official IAPP Body of Knowledge and Exam Blueprint were useful starting points. Practice questions helped me get familiar with how IAPP writes questions.
